Jesus, the Living Word
John 1:1-5
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him, and apart from Him nothing came into being that has come into being. In Him was life, and the life was the Light of men. The Light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.”
Jesus, our true Saviour
Jesus, the One who died for all of us
Who died for the sinner as well as the saint
The unbeliever as well as the believer
That all might come to repentance
That all might come to the belief of Him
Of Jesus’ life, death, resurrection, ascension, and enthronement
Jesus, the Light
Jesus, the Word
Jesus, the spirit of prophecy
Jesus, our everything
Jesus, you are alive
Jesus, you are the air we breathe day in and day out
Jesus, you are the true Vine we abide in
How excellent and privileged we are to be a branch
To be a part of this tree of excellence
To be a part of the tree of Kingdom family
Jesus, the ultimate Tree
The ultimate Well that never runs dry
The true, living Water that supplies us in dry places
The true, living Water that flows from our bellies
You are the living Water
What a privilege
What an honor to even by known by You
Our Supplier, our Lover, and our Friend
Our big Brother who has no end
What a privilege and what an honor
The living Word
With every Word
We take another breath of you
We inhale another life-saving breath of eternity
Jesus, your love tops all others
Your love is felt
Your love is overwhelming and felt
You are sweet and fierce
The fear of the Lord overtakes us
And we bow in submission
What a sweet, fierce Presence to be in
We love you and will always
This garden of love
This garden of embrace
This garden of intimacy
This never-ending garden we will dwell
We won’t just visit
But we will forever abide
You are our Peace
We will forever abide
Thank you
***Jesus, we love you. Oh how excellent is your Presence. How wonderful is your Light. You are the Light that shines up the entire world. You are the true Intercessor, the truest Servant of them all. What a privilege and honor to have you as our prime example of what it means and looks like to love and honor our neighbor as we so easily do ourselves. We thank you Jesus, that the closer we get to you, we see our own imperfections. We see what only you can clean up; only you can heal and make better. It is by your Light do we live. It is by your Light can we inhale and exhale. It is by you and your breath do we have air in our lungs. We love you and will forever praise your Name and lift you high. We will exult you with an everlasting shout as long as we are able, so let this be for eternity. In Jesus’ Name, we pray—Amen.***
