What Lied Dormant

Image
Ezekiel 37:12-13 “Therefore, prophesy and say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God,’ ‘Behold, I will open your graves and cause you to come up out of your graves, My people; and I will bring you into the land of Israel. Then you will know that I am the Lord, when I have opened your graves and caused you to come up out of your graves, My people.’” What lied dormant is coming alive. What used to keep you bound is being released. God’s supernatural manifestations of His promises are here and now if you pursue Him and walk in obedience and not fear. Fear is the enemy’s tool to stagnation and procrastination. It tells you that you can do it later. It lies and tells you that someone else did it better. The spirit of fear tells you to think of what others will think. It tells you to believe word curses spoken over you.  Fear paralyzes you. However, we know that perfect love casts out fear, and so we will strive and move in the love of God. We will move in His love that overpowers the enemy. T...

Prayer

Image
Luke 18:1 “And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint” Lord, we thank you for never leaving nor forsaking us. We repent for being nonchalant and careless regarding your church and your people. We repent for not stepping up to the plate when you have given us plenty of instructions. Lord, we remove the spirit of fear now, and we speak to this altar and command this altar to burn by your fire. Let your winds come in and blow away the ashes. Father, let us move in complete boldness and courage to do and to walk in your will and complete obedience. Then and only then will we see the fruit and the harvest come into your Kingdom. Then and only then will we see your Kingdom come, your will be done. Father, we want to be seen as those who are lovers and followers of Jesus. Those who take the Kingdom reign and run with it. It will look crazy and even not thought-out, but Lord your plan was completed in the spirit before it even touched ou...

Mercy

Image
Matthew 5:7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.” There are different, but all mostly the same, definitions of what it means to have mercy ie to help the afflicted, having compassionate care towards another, and to be kind or forgiving. I wanted to point out the forgiveness part of the definition, because forgiveness seems to be the hardest thing for one to do. Make forgiveness an action until it truly takes root in your heart.  Matthew 6:14-15 “For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.”  I truly believe we should let the Word of God speak for itself. The Lord is speaking. Who will lend an ear to the still, small voice beckoning us to come into the Kingdom; the true Kingdom of God that cherishes your thoughts and prayers, and takes into consideration all of your needs, wants, and cares? I have said this before...

We Will Serve the Lord

Image
Joshua 24:14-15 “Now, therefore, fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord. If it is disagreeable in your sight to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves today whom you will serve: whether the gods which your fathers served which were beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land you are living; but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”  I kept hearing this verse over and over in my spirit. Most church goers know this prominent verse from the Bible. They quote it in conversation, Hobby Lobby has the stickers to place on your walls at home, and it’s plastered for everyone to see, which is beautiful. However, I do believe the first part of this paragraph as a whole, gets left out quite a bit.  Joshua states, “fear the Lord and serve Him in sincerity and truth; and put away the gods which your fathers served beyond the River and in Egypt, and ...

Fear of the Lord

Image
Isaiah 11:1-2 “Then a shoot will spring from  the stem of Jesse, and a Branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the Lord will rest on Him, the spirit of wisdom and understanding, the spirit of counsel and strength, the spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.”  The fear of the Lord brings about a respect and reverence for Jesus Christ and His followers, as well as those who do not follow Him. The fear of the Lord brings about love to the godly and the wicked. The fear of the Lord looks like compassion for the most hated person at your job.  The fear of the Lord is not wanting to do anything outside of the Holy Spirit that He has not approved nor ordained for you to do. The fear of the Lord moves carefully and with precision, moving “harmless as a dove but wise as a serpent” (Mt 10:16) . This fear will have you moving in quick obedience. The fear of the Lord is the result of knowing Jesus; knowing Holy Spirit as a person because He is. This will ha...
