Mercy
Matthew 5:7
“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
There are different, but all mostly the same, definitions of what it means to have mercy ie to help the afflicted, having compassionate care towards another, and to be kind or forgiving. I wanted to point out the forgiveness part of the definition, because forgiveness seems to be the hardest thing for one to do. Make forgiveness an action until it truly takes root in your heart.
Matthew 6:14-15
“For if you forgive others for their transgressions, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive your transgressions.”
I truly believe we should let the Word of God speak for itself. The Lord is speaking. Who will lend an ear to the still, small voice beckoning us to come into the Kingdom; the true Kingdom of God that cherishes your thoughts and prayers, and takes into consideration all of your needs, wants, and cares? I have said this before, but there is a beckoning, an urge, and a push to seek the face of Jesus like never before. Not just because there is safety…yes, but also because there is relationship. The Lord is seeking His ones to come back home to the original Creator. The One who holds all truth and power in His hands. Seek ye the face of the Lord, and be satisfied. Seek ye the face of the Lord and let your thirst be quenched. Seek ye the face of the Lord and there you will find rest. Even in the process of seeking, there is rest and peace like no other.
Seek Jesus and you will find new revelations of mercy like I am finding. There’s a new side to intercession that has been revealed. You hear and listen to teachings and truly understand, but something truly hits different when you are in the driver’s seat. When it’s now your experience, or something you have already experienced, it hits different. It’s easier to forgive when God has revealed more of the picture to you. It’s easier to have mercy on others when you are the one needing it.
Matthew 5:44-47
“But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same?”
True sons are ones who show mercy! Our flesh may not want to and will fight every inch, but Jesus said what He said, and to be more like Him we have to represent the Kingdom well by walking in His ways. Trust me, I am not perfect nor have perfected this, but I do feel led to write concerning this and what God has been revealing to me. It’s like an, “Oh, this is why…x, y, and z,” and “Oh, that is why you had me do this…” I love how our Father is patient in His dealings and teachings with us, furthering our advancement in maturing in Him. Of course, it is our decision to listen, take heed, and act on what is being spoken/instructed.
***Lord, we thank you for leading, guiding, and directing us in your mercy. Thank you for showing us on how to exhibit this to your people and your Creation. Father, we want to be great stewards of what is freely given to us. Lord, we ask you make, define, and refine how this is supposed to look for your Kingdom here on this earth. Let us take dominion back with your mercy. Let us be walking, living, breathing examples of your mercy and of your kindness. We will continue to pray for those who persecute us and slander our names. We will love on our brothers and our enemies. We will show them, through the power of the Holy Spirit, that love conquers a multitude of sins, and that kindness does lead to righteousness. Let us be examples of your hands and feet in the earth. Let us be examples, Father, of your heart in the earth. We do not want to be magnified, but Jesus you through us. Father, make us willing vessels of your love and of your purity…Father of your fire here on the earth. We want to be willing. Stir back a fire within our bellies that yearns for more; more of your fire, more of your Presence, more of your glory. Father, I thank you that you are stirring up the waters and bringing up an explosion of the remnant. Ones who are considered wild, passionate, and hungry for you and you only. No fame, no glory they could muster of their own account that points to them…none of that but just a thirst and hunger for the One, true, and living God…Jesus Christ. We love you and will continue to honor you throughout the generations to come; even after death will we honor you in eternity. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen.***
