Adapting
Deuteronomy 6:13-14
“You shall fear only the Lord your God; and you shall worship Him and swear by His name. You shall not follow other gods, any of the gods of the peoples who surround you.”
Deuteronomy 8:18
“But you shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day.”
1 Corinthians 15:33
“Do not be deceived: ‘Bad company corrupts good morals.’”
Father, we repent for adapting to our flesh and fleshly desires rather than to your Spirit. Lord, forgive us for turning and constantly turning from our wicked ways, our lazy ways, our nonchalant, feet-dragging ways, only to return right back to them. Lord, forgive us for being liars. Liars to your name. Using your name and the name of Jesus as in a routine for our prayers.
In your name means in your name Jesus. In your character and in your nature. Jesus, let us walk more and more in your nature each and every day. Let us not lose our momentum in building this house with you…in building this relationship with you…in building this friendship with you…this altar. Lord we repent.
We repent for becoming too comfortable and familiar with you. It shows by how we’ve become comfortable with our leaders who’ve you assigned over us. Lord we repent. Father, bring back the fear of you again into our hearts and our very being. Lord, let our rivers you have given us in our bellies continue to flow because we have been nurturing, watering, and supplying it with you. You are our living Word, our air supply…the very air we breathe.
Let us not forget our true Source. Let us not forget and disrespect the very one who died for us. Jesus! Jesus we love you and honor you. Let our actions show this very thing. Let our heart show this very thing. Let us be walking examples of you Jesus. Let us dive into our Word deeper and deeper until our spirit-man takes over our fleshly bodies. Let us move so in the spirit, the natural becomes unnatural. Let us fall in love with you again Father!
You are Spirit and we are spirit, so let us become one again Spirit-to-spirit. Father let us commune with you again. Not far away due to guilt and disobedience, but closer and closer to you knowing you are a forgiving, gentle Father, but also one who chastens in love. Lord, we love you. We want to stay in this place with you. This place that will travel with us wherever we go. This place with Holy Spirit that will allow us to see past the natural into the supernatural placed right in front of our eyes. This supernatural that, given the right eyes, will place us in a totally different realm of society. Father, we love you. Jesus, we love you. Holy Spirit we love you.
In Jesus’ Name—Amen.
