Presence
Exodus 33:15-16
“Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not lead us up from here. For how then can it be known that I have found favor in Your sight, I and Your people? Is it not by Your going with us, so that we, I and Your people, may be distinguished from all the other people who are upon the face of the earth?”
Can it really be that simple?
Can staying in the presence of our Father really be that hard?
Why do we fight it so hard?
Why do we tussle so hard with the Spirit?
Can we just stay still and seek the face of the Lord,
And when we do
Will we be satisfied?
Will the thirst for man’s approval be more evident and desirable,
Or will the face of our Lord and Saviour be enough?
What will we choose?
Is self our only motivation?
Is comparison our only motivation,
Our only choice?
Why can’t the peace and serenity of God,
Even in the face of persecution
Be enough?
Have we become slaves to our flesh
And not the Spirit?
The Holy Spirit
The One given to us by the grace of God
When Jesus ascended
The One to give wisdom, guidance,
A sense of direction
Could it really be that simple?
Do we and are we that stubborn
To not want to sit down
And eat from the Master’s table?
What is truly wrong with us?
What is wrong with this picture?
Why have we allowed satan to have his way
And run rampant through our territories?
Confusion is nothing but from the enemy
Perversion and the such
Along with lawlessness
Why is this so hard to see?
Is it really that simple?
Are the answers we’ve been so desperately seeking
Found simply in our rest with Jesus?
Why do we make it so hard?
Why do we allow the enemy to invade our mindspaces?
Occupy your libraries of minds
With the Word of God
Occupy your libraries ie spirits
With prayer and the real truth of the Holy Spirit
We place unnecessary pressure on ourselves
The Lord did not call us
Just to keep up with everything and everyone around us
When you know who you are
And whose you are
These things will become irrelevant
It is not selfish to take care of your peace of mind
When you’re in the face of Jesus consistently
All is healed
Answers are coming to the forefront
And things more and more start to make sense
There’s no scruffling for something
When the answer is right in front of you
Jesus is the answer
And in His face are written the scrolls of your life
Seek His face
His wisdom
His guidance
And keep pursuing the promises of the Lord
Keep pursuing this intimacy
This well of a place
This stream of a place
That will never run dry
And will always have a place for you
To impart, to give serenity
To give rest and restoration
Seek this place
Everyone’s place with Jesus is different
No one can do the asking, seeking, and knocking for you
This is a pursuit that must be traveled alone
For what joy can be found
Or what intimacy and relationship can be developed
Without knowing the Lord for yourself
On a personal level?
What has He done for you
That no one else could have done?
What favor have you found
That only could have been found through Jesus?
Seek Him
Seek Jesus
***Let’s Pray!!! Father, we thank you for laying it out for us in your Word and in deep fellowship with you. We thank you for making it simple. We thank you for drawing us nearer and nearer to you and closer and closer to you with your call of sonship and friendship. We thank you that we can call you a true friend indeed. That there is no distance. Father, if there be any distance, reveal this to us now. Reveal to us where we have fallen short. Reveal to us, by your Spirit, wisdom on how to properly steward your heart well. Reveal unto us your heart concerning us, our families, and the church body. God, we thank you that we don’t have to run around looking for answers when the answer lies in your presence…your face. We thank you and we love you. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen.***
