Weight in the Waiting

Hebrews 12:8 (TPT)

“We all should welcome God’s discipline as the validation of authentic sonship. For if we have never once endured his correction it only proves we are strangers and not sons.”

What a pleasure it is to wait

When you know what is being done

When you know, realize, and appreciate God’s handiwork

How He’s adding, subtracting, dividing all for your good

It may hurt to wait

But what a pleasure in the end to see the fruit of your labor

To see the weight that has been added

Through mantles, glory, and the more

To see new uniforms, weaponry all for the moments ahead

What a pleasure it is to be in the waiting room

The waiting room to analyze, to study, to meditate, and to pray

To fast, to discover, and to (most importantly) build a relationship with Jesus

What a pleasure

What a pleasure it is to sit back and observe everything God has already done

And continues to do

And is in the process of doing

It’s done!

It’s not in who can get there faster

It’s appreciating the process in God’s building of the person

To be prepared for the calling

Let us not rush to the call

And forget Jesus in the process

Appreciate what He’s doing with you now

Discover His heart for you and others now

Move when He says move now

And love always…even the worst

I truly believe observing and appreciating God’s process in our growth

Is one of the most beautiful processes

Of co-laboring with Him that we could do

To work with God in discovering who we are

And what we are meant to do

Brings about a certain joy, light, and weight of Him that cannot be released

It makes you want to hold on to Jesus

A bit tighter day by day

It makes you want to discover more of Him

Bit by bit

A whole bite may be a bit overwhelming

And He knows this all too well

So His patience in building us and opening up more of our books to ourselves

Opens up our understanding of our Father

How He is longsuffering towards us

Patient and enduring towards us

He truly reflects real love and what a father should be and do with His children

There’s a grace but also a sternness about our Father

What a relief it is to be disciplined in the spirit

How gracious it is to be caught by the attention of Holy Spirit

***Let’s Pray!!! Lord, we thank you for the weight that is added in the waiting, in the process, in the grooming, and in your grace. We repent for resisting you at times. Times we thought the enemy was playing tricks with us, when in all actuality it was you allowing certain things to happen for our growth and for our maturity. What sobering moments you have with us, and that we get to share with you to grow and to learn. Father, we thank you for entrusting to us certain mantles, gifts, and more. We thank you for adding more of your glory onto us. We understand with more of your weight comes more responsibility, more accountability, and more sacrifice. Father, you know if and what we are ready for and capable of in our various walks in life, so do what you will in our situations. Thank you for having your way in our lives even when we did not appreciate it nor give you the credit. Your weight carries us. Your weight lifts us and our heads moving forward. We will move forward with you and not ahead. We will appreciate the process and not be dismayed. Father, thank you for shining light on those things that need to be refined in us in order for us to be ready for those things we pray for. Thank you for showing us that we’re not always ready! We love you and honor you and your decisions. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen.***
