Pearls and Pigs
Matthew 7:6 (NASB)
“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces.”
Honestly, I have been hesitant to write about this for a while now, but I believe it is well needed not just for me but for others as well. There is so much captivated within this simple but profound scripture. This scripture brings to light how much value God places on your gifts, calling, etc…what He has originally created in and within you to do.
I know I touched on this before, but just think about how valuable you are in the process it took for God, your Father, to make you. He took His time and made sure that what He placed inside of you was going to have such an impact on the world and/or people, that no one could deny it was God’s hand and God’s doing. Just think about how disappointed our Father would be and grieved in His heart He is to see and hear His creation going to waste.
This leads me to my point of this short blog: do not waste and/or give your pearls to those who will just waste them, and in the process, destroy them and you. This involves using discernment, wisdom, prayer, a place of submission before the Lord, humility, and doing your research. I believe we can have a lot of spiritual pride sometimes to where simple research is negated and neglected, which in turn, has a potential bad result. You ask God, “Well, why didn’t you warn me?” Maybe you didn’t ask before moving forward, or you chose to ignore the signs that were in front of you the entire time.
The heavy disclaimer in all of this: be obedient in what God says “yes” to even when it doesn’t turn out how you expected. There’s always something to be learned, whether it be for you or someone else. Never not obey the Lord and choose to go your own way because of how it may look or seem on the outside. You yourself may be helping someone else, or it could be a major humbling on your part.
However, know when God is speaking, when/if you are being used, and move accordingly. Show the Lord that you value what He values, and that you will do your best to care for it and share it with those who will value it just as much as you do. This doesn’t mean that everyone will, and you will have disappointments, but I truly believe these moments promote growth, maturity, and character. Learn, grow, and move forward.
***Let’s Pray!!! Father, we thank you for your creation: earth, moon, stars, your children. Lord, place on us and impart into us the wisdom, discernment, and knowledge and revelation it takes to not waste our pearls. Father, bring us into the realization and appreciation for what you have given us when you were knitting our spirits together. Lord, you have created us to create, create, and create more and more with our hands through visions, dreams, inner-knowings, prophetic words, and through more ways that you communicate to your children. Thank you that will we move on your “yes” and that we will not move when you say “no”. Let not pride or hidden ambition cloud our judgment or get in the way of how you want to move in our lives. Father, we repent for moving ahead of you! Let us move with you and not ahead, knowing your ways and timing is perfect for us. We love you and honor you. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen.***
