Commune
Matthew 22:8-10 (NASB)
“Then he said to his slaves, ‘The wedding is ready, but those who were invited were not worthy. Go therefore to the main highways, and as many as you find there, invite to the wedding feast.’ Those slaves went out into the streets and gathered together all they found, both evil and good; and the wedding hall was filled with dinner guests.”
John 15:5, 10 (NASB)
“I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing. If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments and abide in His love.”
This is the heart’s desire of our Father who lives in us. How can we negate the fact of our Father being our Father, and ignore the Maker who lives inside of each and every one of us by His mere breath and DNA? Is He not worthy?
Amidst all that is going on in the world today, all the distractions, and all the atrocities, one thing is clear: we need a closer and closer relationship with Jesus. Who else can keep us in perfect peace and protection in the midst of chaos and the fire? I see God’s fire raining down on the earth to refine and purify everything that has been tainted…starting with the churches. What works will withstand the fire? Who will withstand the fire? How genuine were the works for His kingdom in the first place?
The pull for communion with Jesus is getting stronger and stronger. What an amazing God we serve to protect us ahead of time before the times here on earth become worse. I believe God’s judgment will have to come either way (and is slowly unfolding), but I do also believe that we play a huge part in how it’s all played out.
There’s a call to go deeper into the wells of Jesus that some can explain and others cannot. It really doesn’t matter if you can explain it. What matters is that you respond to the call. Who will respond? The cares of this world are truly miniscule in comparison to Jesus, in comparison to the cross, and His blood shed for all. The world could literally be falling apart all around you, and since the focus is Jesus, what’s happening will not matter.
I am not saying to do nothing and not pray, intercede, fast, study, and so forth, but this would naturally happen by staying in the presence of Jesus anyway. Who would have to tell you to do any of these things if your life was truly sold out to Jesus? This should be a lifestyle. Now, everyone has their own journey and we cannot forget ours, so let’s help build while being built ourselves (1 Cor 12:12-26, NASB). Let’s tell our own stories when led to do so and testimonies of Jesus’ hand in our lives, sharing the gospel and being the imitation of Jesus Christ and His works (1 Cor 11:1, NASB). It is beautiful when all different journeys come together as one masterpiece for the glory of God.
The place and space of Jesus is where we need to be and need to stay. Let us die to our flesh daily (2 Cor 4:11, NASB), and press in like never before into the presence of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. His blood is worthy. His presence is worthy. He is worthy.
***Let’s Pray!!! Father, we thank you for Jesus! We thank you for bringing us more and more into your presence and into the understanding of what was done for us on the cross. How your heart’s desire is to just talk to and be with us. To sit with us and commune. Father, we will commune with you. We will commune with Jesus. We will commune with Holy Spirit. Lord, make us one again! Make us talk and walk like you again. Father, bring us back into that space that speaks “I never want to leave”. We feel your heart’s grief and sadness concerning those who have gone astray and play the harlot with the world. Father, we command the west winds of restoration to blow on them and their situations and restore what was lost between you and them. Father, let the east winds come and destroy those evil altars set up against you of idolatry and wickedness. Let your fire come down and destroy to ashes everything that tries to stand up against your children and the name of Jesus; that tries to place profanity on your name. Father, we repent on behalf of America and the church of America. Let all hearts be convicted and return back to you. Let all knees hit the ground in true repentance and prayer. Let all faces be found on the floor in supplication. Father, let us not be found without oil in our lamps. Let us not be found without fire in our bellies. Let us not be able to be found because there was no light in us. God forgive us! Forgive us for placing you on the backburner when you should’ve been in the front. Forgive us for being casual with you knowing you are not a casual God. Forgive us. Lord, we love you and place our eyes on you. Direct us in all our ways by Holy Spirit. In Jesus’ Name we pray and do ask these things---Amen***
