Training Ground

Hebrews 10:35-39 (NASB):

“Therefore, do not throw away your confidence, which has a great reward. For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God, you may receive what was promised. ‘For in yet a very little while, He who is coming will come, and will not delay. But My righteous shall live by faith; and if he shrinks back, My soul has no pleasure in him.’ But we are not of those who shrink back to destruction, but of those who have faith to the preserving of the soul.”

During prayer, I saw that I was sitting on a toy-like, almost cardboard imitation of a horse, and I was being taught how to train and guide the horse with the reigns. Eventually the vision shifted to a real horse with real reigns. Think of everything this involves to guide a real horse after you have taken a training course.

You now have the background information, the wisdom or know-how, the certain movements to make, and a picture of how it’s going to be for the most part. Of course, nothing is like the real thing when you actually do it, but at least you have a foundation to work off of.

I really believe, and has been prophesied, this is what God is doing with many of us. *Take everything before the Lord please of course.* Anyway, the shift is crazy, but then you will find you’re actually ready…go figure! I know I myself pray into prophecies, what God has shown me, etc, but when it comes into fruition there’s no backing down. There’s no shrinking back into a corner.

I am writing this to encourage you and myself that you are ready! God is not looking for perfection. He’s looking for someone he can trust with his children; someone who is strong enough to take the hits of life and the enemy, know and discern what it is, and keep on pushing in faith. God is looking for his warriors who hold compassion and love for others, but who are wise as serpents and calm as doves (Matt 10:16, KJV)

Everything we go through is not for not; either it was self-induced or God allowed it to happen to train us in areas where we fall short. Lord, thank you for your fatherly discipline (Heb 12:4-17, NASB)! It doesn’t always feel good at the moment, but looking back at those situations expands my gratitude, appreciation, and love for Jesus that I didn’t have before.

There’s deeper and deeper and deeper realms to God that are to no end, and I am a happy, ruthless volunteer to pursue them.

***Let’s Pray!!! Thank you Father that you go to no ends to pursue your children, to get your message across, to run us down and over with your message and love. To say that you don’t would be a lie. We repent for not taking your tests as opportunities to learn and grow and to mature in you. Let us take these, repent, turn from our wicked ways, and grow into what you have always intended for us to be. Let us walk into our new with new wineskin, heads held high with this confidence in Jesus that cannot be shaked and will not be moved. Lord, we have faith in you to move mountains, and so we will stand with you, speak to those mountains, and continue to declare our dominion here on this earth. In Jesus’ Name—Amen.***
