Light
John 8:12 (NASB):
“Then Jesus again spoke to them, saying, ‘I am the Light of the world; he who follows Me will not walk in the darkness, but will have the Light of life.’ “
Matthew 5:14-16 (KJV):
“ ‘Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.’ ”
“I am yours and you are mine. That is what you had in mine the whooooole time.” These verses bring this part of a song to my spirit. Us being a part of the true Vine, Jesus Christ, brings about an innate light that just shines brighter and brighter the closer and closer we get to him.
I actually did a bit of research regarding what attracts flies to light. It is a dorsal light response; an innate, biological response that allows them to know which way is up, maintaining a proper attitude and control! The light literally traps the flies in its presence! Like, you can’t make this stuff up! All creation is attracted to light of some sort, but the point in inserting this here is to bring about a comparison. I have said this before, but all of us have an innate attraction to Jesus (the true Light) that if entertained, will trap us in its Presence.
Exodus 34:39 (NASB):
“It came about when Moses was coming down from Mount Sinai (and the two tablets of the testimony were in Moses’ hand as he was coming down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because of his speaking with Him.”
To have this amount of proximity automatically produces more and more of the light that is being revealed of our spirit man. Oh how bright it is when engaged! Your spirit will speak for you what words cannot express! You won’t have to say a word because Holy Spirit will do all the talking. Literally, the more you engage Jesus, the more his glory automatically rests on you; from what you do to who you are.
This is revealed to me as I write that it is just that simple. I believe I made a blog about it being that simple, but what this light builder takes is time and sacrifice. How many are truly willing to sacrifice time for an ounce of the Presence of God? “What a beautiful name it is. What a beautiful name it is. The name of Jesus Christ my King. What a beautiful name it is. Nothing compares to this. What a beautiful name it is. The name of Jesus.”
The constant recognition of Jesus and his Presence will bring you into instantaneous bouts of worship, lead you to scripture, etc. It’s as if Holy Spirit is reminding you/leading you to something, and/or trying to communicate something in that moment; being literally led by the Light! What an interesting and new road to travel each and every day. If you tend to get bored, living in the spirit is far from it. There’s always something interesting to do or see.
We are walking, talking beams of light, but the question stands: How bright is your light?
***Let’s Pray!!! Dear Lord, thank you for being our light! For shining up the room and space to reflect what lies within us. You are constantly bringing more and more out of us the more we entertain your Presence. What a joy and what an honor and privilege we have with this access. Lord, let us not take for-granted what you have given us free access to. Let us appreciate this time of communion and the space you so easily free up for us. Father, have us shine brighter and brighter everyday, not being ashamed. For if we are ashamed, it’s as if we are saying we are ashamed of you. You are our light. You are our guidance; our lighthouse; our lightbeam. Let us not be ashamed. We honor you and we love you. In Jesus’ Name—Amen.***
Love this! Your spirit will speak for you 🔥 That is so powerful. Love the comparison of light! Lord please let our lights shine even more.
