Unmoved
Psalm 1:2-3 (NASB)- "But his delight is in the law of the Lord, day and night. He will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers."
Matthew 10:19-20 (NASB)- "But when they hand you over, do not worry about how or what you are to say; for it will be given you in that hour what you are to say. For it is not you who speak, but it is the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you."
Isaiah 30:21 (NASB)- "Your ears will hear a word behind you, 'This is the way, walk in it,' whenever you turn to the right or to the left."
Lately, God has been challenging me to follow Him and not please man. I know...starting out pretty strong and straight to the gut right? Well, at least for me haha. The Holy Spirit has pulled me away to expose me to me; to show me areas that I still need maturing and growth. He wants His voice to be the ONLY voice that I follow and stand firm on...nothing and no one else. Unless, of course, other voices are trusted voices of God.
Anywho, I was like, "No! God, noooo! Am I a people-pleaser? Gross!" 😰 I really thought I had gotten better, and I have, but not when it comes to decisions God Himself has to told me to do. I'm learning to live a life of no compromise when it comes to God's revelation, and to truly trust in God's voice. Even when it seems perfectly logical to do other things, and the situation at hand makes no sense to me or even to others. What God says to do I'm going to do...period.
If you know by now, I bring up self-reflecting questions we all truly should think about and seek to fix: Do you compromise when what others say contradict what God has said? Do you trust in the voice of God versus your own intellect or that of others? How serious do you take the Lord when He says to do something that will benefit you? Or, do you put off what He says, what could've been done yesterday because of fear of losing a "friend" or just pure laziness?
What I have learned, and continuing to learn, really is to get closer to God by getting to know Him through His Word ie the Bible. I have to consistently read, study, and meditate on what God gives me to read. Honestly, every time that I do, I hear the Holy Spirit clearer and clearer. It's like the answer that I have been struggling to find is found instantly by me just taking my time with Jesus, studying, and waiting for a response.
I truly believe that the issue is that rarely anyone wants to wait on the Lord, but come to find out, the wait isn't that long if you're consistent and obedient to what He is asking you to do. I truly believe it is us who prolong the journey because of our allegiance to our flesh more than to the Kingdom. We over-analyze, want to fix everything without consulting with God first, and truly think we can handle everything ourselves without getting the true and perfect guidance.
This year, and the seasons to come, is a "Only God could have done it" type of year. You wait and see. There will not be, and cannot be, any other explanation(s). You wait and see.
***Let's Pray!!! 💝 Dear Lord, thank you for the grace and mercy you continue to provide for us each and every day. You are, of course, not foreign to disciplining us, but even so you do with love. Your love conquers all. Let us, in everything we do, do in love. Not in a churchy or staged act, but out of pure genuinity and authenticity from your heart God. Continue to keep us standing firm in your Word and the revelation you bestow upon us. Let us not be moved by the distractions and temptations of the world. Even those who do mean us well, Lord, if it's not from you then we don't want any parts of it. Like Job, God thank you that we can trust in you regardless of what it looks like or how it may seem. We know our latter days will definitely be better than our former. You are a faithful God, and will never leave our side. Thank you, thank you, thank you, and we trust you Father. In Jesus' Name-Amen. ***
