Relationships
Matthew 12:47-49 (NASB)- "Someone said to Him, 'Behold, Your mother and Your brothers are standing outside seeking to speak to You.' But Jesus answered the one who was telling Him and said, 'Who is My mother and who are My brothers?' And stretching out His hand toward His disciples, He said, 'Behold My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of My Father who is in heaven, he is My brother and sister and mother."
What God has impressed upon my heart lately has been on the topic of relationships; kingdom relationships with the same mind, will, and heart of God. Our main focus being building kingdom relationships with the same end-view and goal at hand. However, I have found that it is hard to build a kingdom relationship when you don't know God's call on your life i.e. what to look for and whom to look for that something in. A good starting place, of course, would be to just surround yourself with believers of Jesus Christ.
There have been different speakers I have listened to that have said the same thing but in different formats: Surround yourself with what you're looking to grow in. You know it's time to move, find, and search for something more when you have reached a plateau; you feel stagnant and there's no forward movement in your surroundings, and there's a yearning, desire, and hunger inside of you for more of God.
There was a hunger and desire inside of the disciples who followed Jesus for more. How could you be a front-row witness to Someone so great and His demonstrations so powerful and not want more? Real, genuine relationships, without any type of agenda, equals unity in the Kingdom of God. Those who do the will of God and aren't looking for an accolade of some sort...this is what God is looking for.
I harp on kingdom relationships a lot because the closer you get to God and His works, the more lonely it gets; not everyone who says they want to follow Jesus understands the sacrifices it takes to do so (Matthew 7:13-14, NASB). Yes, Jesus was surrounded by His disciples and plenty others, but there was only one He kept close. This didn't mean He did not have a relationship with the others, but only a few could be trusted.
I promise you, I thought I was going to go a different way with this blog but...God blocked it 😁. It is important to develop relationships in order to grow God's kingdom here on earth more effectively; just be careful in how they are developed. Rely on the Holy Spirit to guide you in deciding who He wants to be your compadré rather than your own self wisdom.

***Let's Pray! 🙏- Dear Lord, thank you for bringing people across our paths to help us along the way. Thank you Father that we don't always have to go down this path alone, but that at times, You will require that we do. Thank for providing for us destiny-helpers and some friendships that will last for the years we are on here on this earth. Thank you Lord for being the key and influence amongst us and others when it comes to finding other children of God to advance us and your kingdom forward. You never cease to amaze us Lord at all that you continue to do for us and for the nations. You continue to protect. You continue to extend mercy and grace where it is not deserved. You continue to unconditionally love us with our dirty selves. Father, let us adopt your heart to love on others as you love us. Let us at least come close to loving our brother and sister in Christ regardless of how they may treat us or feel about us. God, it is You that sustains us, so we will keep living grateful and conscientious of this fact. We we will not take for-granted all it is that you have done for us and continue to do for us on a daily. Lord, you are so merciful. You are so gracious. We love you, we thank you, and we honor you. In Jesus' Name we pray-Amen.***
