What Do You Want?

Psalm 37:4 (NASB)- "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

The question that God has been presenting to me lately is, "What do you want?" This question has been coming through other prophets, randomly in conversation, and in my personal time with the Lord. I found myself getting frustrated because I thought I had already answered this question over and over again. The answer being almost everybody else's answer, "Lord, please pay off all me and my husband's debts. I don't want to make payments; I want to payoff, own, and not rent in everything I do." This is awesome and I know God will make it happen. In the meantime, I still had the question presented to me over a year time-span, "What do you want?"

I realized, looking back over the past year, that I have really grown in Christ and in my relationship with Him. The closer I got, the less requests I had about the earthly or material things. My answer soon became, and still is, "Lord, I just want to be closer to you. I want to know you on a whole new level. I want to walk in-tandem with the Holy Spirit for complete and utter guidance in everything I do." I realized the more I got closer to the Lord, the more I wanted to know Him. The closer I got to the Lord, the more I wanted to please Him. The closer I got to the Lord, the more I respected and feared Him. The closer I got to the Lord, the more I loved Him.

God changed my answer! Better yet, God changed my heart in how it viewed Him. Come on Jesus! The Lord changed my heart into wanting Him (honestly where it should have been in the first place). Me and my husband were talking on the drive to Florida, and he had mentioned that he wanted to know the Lord more. The Holy Spirit, while he was talking, convicted me by telling me, "This should have been your answer." The Lord revealed to me my heart's condition and the answer He had been waiting on all-in-one! I had been focused and worried about so many other things, that I didn't realize the One who is the solution to them all. Philippians 4:19 (NASB)- "And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus."

Through tests and trials, it can seem hard to focus on God or even remember His promises. This is why it is important to know the Lord for yourself; not through what someone else tells you but on a personal level. It's amazing to learn and be taught, but what about the other days of the week? If we keep Jesus on the forefront of our minds and the Lord's Word, we start to know the Lord on a whole other level. We start to know Him so much that we actually keep Him at His Word, knowing that it is true. What it may look like is nothing compared to what my God said He would do. He's going to do just what He said He would do...period. When you have a close relationship with someone, you know their ins-and-outs, you know what a certain look means without them having to say anything, you know their personality traits...you know them. Same with the Lord. You know what will upset Him, you know what will please Him, you what He thinks is funny, and so forth...you know Him.

So, the question is presented to you, "What do you want?" What is honestly in your heart right now, and if it's not getting to know the Lord more, then do some real heart evaluation and allow the Holy Spirit to reconstruct your heart. Fast, pray, and study the Word if you're serious about this relationship. This is the relationship of living water (John 4:13-14, NASB)! The best, consistent, no-games relationship you'll ever have with Jesus.

***Prayer Time! 💛 Dear Father, thank you for loving us. Thank you for your patience Father. You don't have to do the things that you do, but you choose to do them anyway. We couldn't be more grateful and thankful for you taking your time with us for us to realize who the real King is in our lives. Forgive us Lord for allowing cares of this world and other material things to cloud our focus when it comes to you. There are so many sides and facets to you Lord we want to know, and so Lord we do repent for our ways that are outside of your will and your law concerning us. We want to know you on higher and higher levels. We know, when asking for this, times might get harder but our focus will be so keen and tight on you that those things won't even matter because we know you. Father, allow our relationship with you to become tighter and tighter, closer and closer. Lord, we continue to thank you for your grace that we will not take for granted. We see you and are appreciative for your hand in and on our lives. You see after us and protect us from all harm, hurt, or danger, and we observe the pestilence you keep from our tents. Thank you Lord! You have come through so many times before in our lives, so we know you and we know you will most definitely do it again. No matter how big or how small, Lord you win them all. In Jesus' Name-Amen, Amen, and Amen.***
