Seek Me
Jeremiah 29:13 (NASB)- "You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart."
I have been seeing this verse a lot lately, and it has even been used in other books I am currently reading. So, with anything this repetitive you tend to pay attention. I know from previous experience in our move to Florida, that seeing the same thing over and over again means God is trying to communicate something to you. Anyway, when studying the Bible, I could not move pass this verse for some reason, so I asked God, "How do I go about seeking you to find you?" I did not immediately get an answer. Call me over-analytical, but I was truly puzzled.
Oh...my...goodness ya'll. The answer (like the previous blog) was so simple and literally in my face the entire time. Through other different books and teachings watched, I was reverted right back to my Bible. The Holy Spirit revealed to Me that in order to find God, I have to study God. I have to study His Word on a consistent, daily basis (Romans 12:2; Joshua 1:8, NASB). There has to be a pursuit...a chase after the Lord. No amount of sweat in prayer and excessive energy could get me any closer to the Lord without knowing Him through studying His Word first. It's like going to the store and expecting to receive all your groceries for free without bringing your money to the table. Oh wow! God just dropped this in my spirit. Ok, so it is like going before the Lord in prayer, and he can't see one verse (or that's all He sees) in your spirit. Come on ya'll! There's no fooling Him; He can literally see right through you to your spirit (John 4:24, NASB). The audacity to present your problems/issues to God, and no time was spent even getting to know Him. Don't we pray scripture? How do you know anyone without the character description of the person? Even then you still need to do your research.
In my walk with Jesus, I am slowly but surely learning and putting the puzzle pieces together by the grace of God and revelation from the Holy Spirit. I would get teachings, learn, take notes, and then go home and not study on my own to show myself approved (2 Timothy 2:15, NASB). Great...just great. How dangerous it is to know that there are many who do not read their Bibles, and blindly follow someone who may or may not be using the scripture correctly. I used to blindly follow, but thank you Lord for not giving up on me! That reminds me of a question someone asked me a long time ago, "Are you a leader or are you a follower?", implying that I was being a follower at the time. It may seem like a simple question, but the question is now presented to you. Be a leader and take charge when it comes to knowing your Word so you won't be fooled.
The Lord repeatedly showed me Jeremiah 29:13 to emphasize my need to read more of Him. The latter part of this verse says to "search for Me with all your heart". How can I do that if I'm barely picking up my Bible? The Lord truly wants to see who will take Him seriously by setting aside the time to get to know Him. Will you seek Him and search for Him with all your heart; I mean on a daily basis? You'll find once you start you cannot (and honestly don't want to) stop. The more you know, the more you grow. We (speaking about me) tend to make things more complicated than they are.
Slow down, study your Bible, and have the Holy Spirit guide you through His Word. There's no rush to see who will finish first. It's just you and God. Even if you do finish front to back, there's still more to learn and still more you missed...trust me. Watch God change you from the inside-out. You won't want to do the same things anymore; matter-of-fact, you'll be convicted when you try to. A scripture will pop up in your spirit, or the Holy Spirit might just speak directly to you Himself. Now, whether you choose to be obedient is between you and God, but I pray obedience is your final decision.
Jeremiah 55:6 (NASB)- "Seek the Lord while He may be found; call upon Him while He is near."
***Let's Pray! 💗: Thank you Lord for your Presence, your everlasting love, compassion, and jealousy for your children. You love us too much to let us go down the wrong path. God, let us pay attention when you are trying to get our attention. Let us heed to your Word and fail not, but to continue in it day by day. Father, put into us more of a yearning for you, so that when we seek for you we read about you in our Bibles. When we search for you, Lord, you will be found because we have spent the time getting to know you. Lord, we know you want to be known, just as we want to be known by you. We give you the same, and even more, respect. Father, we know that when we diligently seek your face, that you will see our diligence and respond to our needs. Thank you for responding to some of our needs even when we don't seek you in your Word. Lord, you are a faithful God and there is none like you. We love you Lord and we honor you forever. In Jesus' matchless Name, do we pray-Amen.***
Awesome and I needed to be reminded
