Weary Not
Isaiah 40:31, KJV "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."
Every week I ask God, "What word or scripture do you have for me this week?" or "What do I need to meditate on?" The Holy Spirit will give me a scripture for that week (or several weeks) that's right on time, even if it doesn't make sense to me at first, and the above scripture was the word for this week. This word would encourage me and be my guide for that week, given certain things that occur, and I could quickly refer to this scripture.
However, for a quick moment, I could see myself slowly but surely becoming discouraged in well-doing. I remembered the vision and what God said, but what I saw in front of me wasn't matching up. My discouragement was trying to pull me away from reading and praying like I used to. When this started happening, I noticed my spirit was uneasy about a lot of things that usually, with God's peace, wouldn't have bothered me; I would notice certain things but not let it bother me and just move on. Trust me, there is a big difference versus when you're walking with God for a time initially and then you abruptly stop. My whole mood changed and I physically became tired. I wasn't using the Lord's strength but trying to maintain on my own, and we all know this is to no avail.
I had to rewind, chill, calm down, and truly meditate on the word given to me to understand what the Lord was trying to tell me, and this is what He said, "You don't put up with the things you used to. I've created something special in the both of you. Don't give up or give in, keep meditating, reading, and listening. You'll see. You're not sad or depressed; you've already transitioned (spiritually). You have more people behind you than you think or want to believe. Don't doubt the truth I've put in you based off the rejection you receive." Isn't this true?! Can you not relate?! Don't we doubt what even the Lord said and has shown us based off of how the world, or even close ones, may react or lack thereof?
This encouragement led me to another verse in 2 Thessalonians 3:13, KJV "But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing." God sees and He knows the works you do for others in Jesus' name, and He is well-pleased. I know, for me and my husband personally, that this moment we are in now is a pruning, molding, and testing season. We are destined for other things the Lord has shown us and wants to take us, and the process in getting there is not the most desirable, but we are using His word as our guide and encouragement. The Lord has intentionally put us in a position to totally and completely rely on Him.
Lastly, in referring back to Isaiah 40:31, use the Lord's strength as your own. Do not rely on something you did not create in the first place. Paul mentions in 2 Corinthians 12:10, NASB, "Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ's sake, for when I am weak, then I am strong." In the previous verse, the Lord had told Paul that the power we receive from Him is perfected in our weakness. To walk in the power of the Lord, we have to truly live His word, depend and lean on Him, and trust that what He said He would do, He's going to fulfill- Numbers 23:19, Isaiah 55:11, NASB. I'm spiritually and physically tired and near-exhausted of trying to walk in my own strength. How about you?
**Prayer time! 😊- Thank you Lord for your strength; for always being there in the midst of trials and even when we are not in a trying season. You are our strength and our hope, the One we all rely on, whether we want to acknowledge it or not. Thank you for being our everything when we have nothing; our someone when we have no one. God, thank you for giving us this supernatural strength when we fully lean and rely on you. Lord, it is by your mercies that we are renewed every morning and not consumed, and we couldn't be more grateful- Lamentations 3:22-23, KJV. When we want to get weary, let us remember your word, meditated and pray on it, learn from it, and be rebooted for whatever is to come next; for it is your strength we rely on and we know you have an endless supply. In Jesus' Name-Amen.**
