Confidence

Image
Luke 4:32 (NASB)- "and they were amazed at His teaching, for His message was with authority." John 14: 12 (NASB)- "Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father."      This past week has really pointed out to me personally what confidence in the Lord can do. I've had moments before where my faith was put to the test, but not like this and not in this way. I can speak against sicknesses and diseases, but when it comes to unforeseen weather (dangerous conditions), what do you do then? Do you think this is out of your hands; out of your control? Maybe you've known this already or not, but the lightbulb just turned on for me that we have more control through Christ than we give ourselves credit for...it's the lack of confidence and low self-esteem that cloud our process of thinking.     My birthday is September 30th, and me an...

Enough!

Image
Can we just pray for a moment? Can we just call out everything, and then some, that's been occupying our time and our space? I, for one, am a bit annoyed with the enemy thinking that he has the upper hand in our lives. I am also annoyed with our response because we have gotten so used to losing. We're not losers! We've been winning ever since we have decided to give our lives to Jesus and walk in His ways. We're victors! Let's call these issues out!     Anxiety and worry, we call you out. We bind, rebuke, and cast you down and out, in the name of Jesus. No longer will you creep up and fester on things in my life that only God can handle. Lord, I trust you to handle everything in my life that may even bring the thoughts of anxiety to rise. Lord, in your word you said that you would give me peace that surpasses all understanding to guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, and so I stand on this truth (Philippians 4:7, NASB ). I stand on your word because it ...

Reverence

Image
The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language defines reverence as: 1) a feeling of profound awe and respect and often love; synonym-honor 2) an act of showing respect, especially a bow or curtsy 3) used as a form of address for certain members of the Christian clergy.       I heard it once said at a prophetic conference that most people are so mesmerized by loving God, that they forget about reverence for God. The idea behind this statement was that, once people become familiar with the Lord, they start to treat Him as if He's not royalty or their Creator anymore, but more-so as their "homeboy"; someone to reference to every now-and-then at their convenience. There's no respect and/or no fear if you really sit back and discern. The lives we speak and preach about from the Bible are not the lives we live. Our born-again lives do not reflect that of the image of Jesus (Gal 5:24-26, NASB). Surely, there is no p...

Transform

Image
"For in Him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also His offspring."-Acts 17: 28, KJV.     In a previous blog, I talked about moving with the shift that God is taking us by the Holy Spirit. However, I did not truly hone in on the fact that the Lord is challenging us to transform with this move. God is challenging us to totally and completely depend on Him and this requires our transformation. For some, this change may be big, for others not so big. In any case, this change requires our complete faith to move into some areas that we have no background experience or, by natural standards, would not even be qualified for.      God is always ready and willing to take us to the next level, but not if you're not willing to transform into what He's called you to be. The world is constantly changing, and trust God is not blind to this fact, so there has to be new and different ways to reach H...

Weary Not

Isaiah 40:31, KJV "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint."      Every week I ask God, "What word or scripture do you have for me this week?" or "What do I need to meditate on?" The Holy Spirit will give me a scripture for that week (or several weeks) that's right on time, even if it doesn't make sense to me at first, and the above scripture was the word for this week. This word would encourage me and be my guide for that week, given certain things that occur, and I could quickly refer to this scripture.      However,  for a quick moment, I could see myself slowly but surely becoming discouraged in well-doing. I remembered the vision and what God said, but what I saw in front of me wasn't matching up. My discouragement was trying to pull me away from reading and praying like I used to. When this starte...
