Offense

Proverbs 18:19

“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city, and contentions are like the bars of a citadel.”

Offense is this ugly, unforgiving seed of the devil

It is the root of so many unnecessary arguments and disagreements

It makes problems and situations where there was none

It will make you see things that are not there

It breaks and tears you apart from destiny helpers

One root of offense can be jealousy

It digs its’ roots in your heart and if not dealt with can stew and create bitterness

Offense is a choice

Offense is a sign and result of immaturity

There are the offenders

But what and who you choose to respond to identifies your location

Where our location is spiritually will identify and determine how or if we respond

Will the response be love?

The love of God is sacrificial and not conditional

The love of God sees the knife and still chooses love

Another root of offense can be a lack of identity

Offense can be the result of coveting

It can be the result of or stem from having an orphan spirit

Offense builds barricades in the spirit around your heart

This spirit causes stubbornness to result

This spirit creates situations that never existed

Offense blocks progression

Due to the focus on distractions rather than God

Offense is a delayer

Offense is childish, for a child, and should not be entertained

Did that thing even happen?

Even if you are justified, when will you let it go?

When will you be healed, set free, and delivered?

Offenses will come, but it is our decision whether to let them go, rectify the situation, and be healed

Or let the offense sit, brew, cook, grow into bitterness, and destroy us from the inside-out

***Lord, we thank you for freeing us from the spirit of offense. Lord, let us go before you now and ask that you do a clean sweep of our spirits. Father, we want to be pure and holy as you are holy. Father, give us clean hands and a pure heart. Lord, we want to be laid-down, selfless lovers of you, and offense will only get in the way of that. Lord, we repent right now for any seeds of unforgiveness that lies within our hearts. Father, bring to mind anyone in our lives that we have not forgiven so we can forgive them now. Lord, bring your heart before us now so we can walk, talk, and live in your nature. We don’t want to do and live out this relationship with you half-way, but Lord we are willing to go all the way in. Lord, reveal your love to us and for your children. Help us to see them as you see them, so we treat them as you do and desire. We love you and will honor you through our actions as we honor our neighbors in spirit and in truth. In Jesus’ Name—Amen.***
