My Yoke is Easy, My Burden Light

Image
Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and my burden is light.”  Proverbs 18:10 “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; The righteous run into it and is safe.”  There’s so much here and so much the Lord has been trying to make me understand. There’s rest and safety in the multitude of counsel, and the ultimate rest you’ll find is in the arms of the Lord, Jesus Christ. There’s this spiritual hug from Him that is unmatched. Such a peace, safety, comfort, correction, even a rebuke that has such a gentleness about it that is respected if the fear of the Lord resides within you.  To have the yoke of Jesus Christ upon your neck, learning from everything that was endured from being under that yoke, my guess is, you’d never be the same. To learn from Jesus Himself through the scriptures...

Selfish Disciple

Jonah 1:5-6 “Then the sailors became afraid and every man cried to his god, and they threw the cargo which was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone below into the hold of the ship, lain down and fallen sound asleep. So the captain approached him and said, “How is it that you are sleeping? Get up, call on your god. Perhaps your god will be concerned about us so that we will not perish.” Jonah 4:11 “Should I not have compassion on Ninevah, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know the difference between their right and left hand, as well as any animals?”  Matthew 16:22-23 “Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him, saying, ‘God forbid it, Lord! This shall never happen to You.’ But He turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind Me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to Me; for you are not setting your mind on God’s interests, but man’s.’” These two words came to me randomly as I was getting ready for the day. I was thi...

Caged Mind

Image
Proverbs 4:23 “Watch over your heart with all diligence, for from it flow the springs of life.” Proverbs 3:19 “The Lord by wisdom founded the earth, by understanding He established the heavens.” Proverbs 3:21-23 “My son, let them not vanish from your sight; keep sound wisdom and discretion, so they will be life to your soul and adornment to your neck. Then you will walk in your way securely and your foot will not stumble.”  This picture came into my mind after realizing where my mind had been…where I had unintentionally placed myself out of fear, others’ words, my surroundings, etc. How many times have we done this, but first, what is a “caged mind”? What does this exactly look like? A caged mind is one who over-analyzes, over-thinks, and essentially paralyzes forward movement/advancement by overthinking and overanalyzing. However, faith in the Kingdom of God does not look like this. Faith looks like doing what God has shown or told you in wisdom with Him, and then looking b...

Ruthless Intercessor

Image
Luke 23:34 “But Jesus was saying, ‘Father, forgive them; for they do not know what they are doing.’” Don’t be a ruthless intercessor One that has no love in their hearts One who goes for the gutter and doesn’t look back  One who swipes off the head of the enemy and doesn’t look back to check on the person Don’t be a ruthless intercessor Because in the word itself is love In the word itself is compassion You have to have love and compassion for those you know and don’t know You have to have compassion and love for those who you know are backbiting against you  You have to have compassion Don’t be a ruthless intercessor Whom God has trusted you with the equipment and wisdom behind it But then uses it to tear up and destroy everything in their path Don’t be a ruthless intercessor Who has no integrity with the Father But uses hidden information to be made a spectacle of themselves Don’t be a flashy intercessor Whom self is the motive  And not others Whom love comes las...
