Smaller Things
1 Cor 13:1-2
“If I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but do not have love, I have become a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.”
The smaller things. What are they exactly? How do they look in the Kingdom of God, and how can we prevent these things from becoming a distraction? Disclaimer: this is sadly the normal for most churches. The smaller things include but are not limited to: gossipping, backbiting, murmuring, complaining, etc.
Why do these things take precedence over the actual important things of this world? Why are they even important knowing the care lost souls and hearts need nowadays? What is really going on and why are we in this delusion of competition? Have we really stooped so low as to be petty concerning every situation out of offense? When did we turn away from the gospel?
Mt 7:12
“In everything, therefore, treat people the same way you want them to treat you, for this is the Law and the Prophets.”
Mt 22:37-40
“And He said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the great and foremost commandment. The second is like it, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments depend the whole Law and the Prophets.’”
I am truly saddened but at the same time determined to state and tell the truth with the Word of God. No longer will the pure stand for the pettiness in the church. How are we any better than the world doing the same thing? How are we putting on a facade as light slinging around darkness? Do we really want blood on our hands? You know, before God, all these actions and words spoken will have to be given account for.
Our fear of the Lord should outrun and outreach any offense we think we even have with our brother and/or sister in Christ. This is not a subliminal message…this is facts and this is the Word.
We literally have school shootings, children dying and/or thinking about suicide, and diagnosis of depression as the enemy is trying his hardest to ruin the trajectory of the youth’s purpose. These are the bigger things! These are the things we should be interceding for, finding solutions for, and seeking the face of God for. You can miss me with the smaller things, for this is for the immature. We have bigger pills to swallow in this world, and it starts with you. It starts with your participation, maturity, teamwork, and willingness to serve another man’s vision to create one. We are preparing the way for Jesus’ return.
Prepare the way all ye saints and put away your flesh. Die to yourselves daily and know the Kingdom of God has arrived.
***Let’s Pray!!! Father, we thank you that you have given us the opportunity to die to ourselves, to cut off our flesh day by day so we walk and talk more in the spirit. Lord, we repent for not moving in your character and in your heart. You are the Most High, so we will treat you as such with fear and trembling. We will give respect where respect is due and reverence to the worthy King of all. You have kept us to be witnesses to your people, disciples, servants, teachers, and more. Let us not disappoint and waste that which you have given us to do, but let us be obedient in purity. Father, if there be any motive or hidden agendas in our hearts, reveal that to us now so we can be delivered. We want to be set free of any spirit of rejection or the orphan spirit. Lord, let us all find our true identity in you and in nothing or no one else. Lord, let there be found no idols in our hearts. Nothing comes before you. You are the Alpha and Omega. The Beginning and the End, the First and the Last. You have our hearts and nothing and no one else. We set our eyes on you. We set our focus on you and we say, “Yes, I will go and do that which you have asked.” Lord, even if it doesn’t make sense at the time, let us be obedient anyway knowing there is a greater reward. You, Father, are our greater reward! We honor you and we love you. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen.***
Amen!!! Thank you Abba for your daily reminders.
