Distractions
There are a lot of things, people, circumstances, and situations that can be deemed as distractions…and quite frankly they probably are. The beginning of 2025 has shown us these things. There is a lot to pray about, a lot to cast down, out, and destroy, and a lot that has worn people out.
People are becoming distracted with the latest prophecy, the latest terrorist attack, and the latest encounter. I have seen this pulling away from the image of Christ, from God’s person, and it’s happening at an alarming and fast rate. There seems to be a focus on everything but Jesus.
Heavy disclaimer: if you are being led to do whatever God has truly called you to do at that moment, then do it, but there just seems to be an overload. When there is an overload, it tends to lead to confusion and a lack of focus. When I see an overload of events taking place, or sense a lot occurring all at once, it’s time to increase my own personal prayer time.
Matthew 14:23
“After He had sent the crowds away, He went up the mountain by Himself to pray; and when it was evening, He was there alone.”
Matthew 14:13
“Now when Jesus heard about John, He withdrew from there in a boat to a secluded place by Himself; and when the people heard of this, they followed Him on foot from the cities.”
Matthew 26:36
“Then Jesus came with them to a place called Gethsemane, and said to His disciples, ‘Sit here while I go over there and pray.’”
A heightened spiritual sensitivity should signify a closer, more intimate relationship with God. This, in itself, would be a test of character and a carrier of secrets. What can be released. What cannot be released. What’s just between you and the Lord.
I have mentioned this before, and to myself sometimes sound like a broken record, but let us all not lose focus on the mission of Jesus Christ: to bring the lost in to a closer walk and relationship with Him making them disciples.
***Let’s Pray!!! Father, from what we see in the spiritual and natural realm, we will pray over and become good stewards. Keep us grounded in you. Let us not go too far off where we lose focus of where we came from. Father, we are but broken vessels used to proclaim your message whenever you have given us your “yes”. Lord, open our eyes and remove the veils so we can see what is going on in the spiritual realm. Help us to look through your lens of love for your people. Help us to be mighty intercessors as our brother Jesus Christ. Lead us to prayer and not people. Father, lead us to you. We want to be filled, overfilled, and refilled by you on a daily. Father, let your Word be our daily bread. Let your Presence be our manna. We love you and honor you. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen.***
