Childlike

Matthew 18:1-6 (NASB)

“At that time the disciples came to Jesus and said, “Who then is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?” And He called a child to Himself and set him before them, and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever then humbles himself as this child, he is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. And whoever receives one such child in My name receives Me; but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to stumble, it would be better for him to have a heavy millstone hung around his neck, and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.”

There’s so much in these verses right here, but to start off, this is what was revealed to me: God, our heavenly Father, is bringing us back into a childlike state. This, spiritually, looks like a growth in maturity. I know this sounds backwards but let me explain (plus things of the kingdom will look and sound backwards).

God is bringing us into a childlike faith, joy, peace, and sonship. He is bringing us into a state and place where we enjoy His presence again; where we can’t wait to just sit before Him and at His feet. Where all we want is to meet with our Father and sit in the heavens enjoying His light, running around in His light, and jumping and singing for joy in His light. Doesn’t this sound just like what a child would do? Exactly and why not?! We have been too conditioned and painted a picture of what “maturity” should look like. What is maturity defined as in the sight of God? Let your own revelation and time spent with Him define that answer.

What is true joy? Prosperity is nice and Jesus is all for it, but what He most desires is joy we get from the prosperity of His presence and relationship.

Another point I wanted to make concerning the literal children of today: we should definitely be paying more attention to them and their mindset, what they are watching, and what they are digesting on a daily. Before the corruption of the world, what were their interests, what naturally came to them as a talent and/or gift, and so on? Woe to those who feed these children food of the devil! This only buries and beats down gifts, talents, businesses, dreams, aspirations, glory movements, revivals, deliverers, apostles, prophets, evangelists, and the more that they are actually called to be.

We should also be paying attention to their dreams, how they communicate, and what they see that we as adults have grown numb to. Return back to your first love and you will be considered almost childlike because of the overwhelming joy, creativity, and faith you have. You will be considered literally crazy because you have experienced the supernatural and actually choose to live by the Holy Bible and be led by Holy Spirit. Live upside down in the kingdom of heaven here on earth.

***Let’s Pray!!! Dear Lord, thank you for teaching by your sons and daughters and by your Holy Spirit. We repent for the times we did not take heed and apply that which was taught and/or that which you had given us personally. Father, forgive us. Forgive us for not moving on what we thought was childish or crazy at the moment, but that could have literally saved someone’s life. Father, let us move in automatic obedience when you have us to move. We see what’s going on in the world, and this is why you have been drawing us closer into deeper and deeper wells with you. In this place we are safe, have faith, have peace, and joy that cannot be taken away and is rooted in you. Father, thank you! There’s not enough “thank yous” we could give, but we give them anyway. We love you and honor you. In Jesus’ Name we pray—Amen***
