Agape

1 John 4:16 (KJV)

"And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him."

Lately, there has been this overwhelming burden of love from God. It has been weighing heavy on me the love He has for His children. This unconditional, sacrificial love goes beyond our wildest imaginations. This kind of love is sweet. This love is saddened at what it sees. This love weeps at the callousness of man's hearts.

This kind of love chases down a fool and calls it its' own. There's not one definition of the love of God, except God being just that...love. God is love. He is the exact person of love.

The Father's love is one that will convict the hearts, peel off layers of the old man, and reveal yourself to you. This is the kind of agape that will discipline you for your benefit to see you on the right trail. This kind of love will remind you, by Holy Spirit, of everything that God has brought you through and where He has brought you from.

This love will bring you to your knees weeping uncontrollably; not because of feelings or emotion, but because your spirit cannot contain all God's Presence and all it has to give, so it just weeps at the beauty of His glory. Once you have experienced, recognized, and appreciated the love of your Father, the love of Jesus Christ, and the love of Holy Spirit, you will never be the same. You will start speaking from a place of love. You will start seeing from a place of love. You will have heaven's perspective on the world's matters.

This kind of love requires a constant death of flesh. I have learned that developing and acquiring this kind of agape is not easy. You literally have to see others, regardless of what is done, through the eyes of Jesus Christ...through the eyes of love. This is why renewing our minds day in and day out is essential to walking in the spirit (Rom 12:2, KJV)

You're so focused on Jesus and walking in the spirit, that your eyes' view and gaze is nothing but through the lens of our Father. God will place you in situations and temptations and trials to see how you'll respond to His children. Recognize what and who is using the person, and your whole perspective will change. Honestly, you'll start feeling bad for those who hate or are against you. You will start to truly intercede and pray, "Forgive them Father; for they know not what they do!" (Lk 23:34, KJV). Can you pray for your enemies as Jesus did on the cross for you and me? Can you? Will you?

Will you intercede for America? Will you pray for your leadership, regardless of how you feel? That will probably kill those unnecessary emotions. Will you pray for your enemies' deliverance and change of heart? Will you pray?! Why has your heart waxed cold?

God is touching the hearts of man. He is waking up those who've been rocked to sleep. He's shaking those who've been caught up and lured into the snares and traps of the enemy. He's shaking you!

Love can and will change your prayer-life. There has to be an agape-kind of love to intercede, with compassion, for your nation and those who don't even know you exist.

***Let's Pray!!! Thank you Father for being the perfect example of what true love looks like. For you to give your only Son to come and die for our sins, and be tortured not only here, but in hell too speaks more volumes than we could ever imagine. You are the epitome of love. Let us put this into practice. Let us be so consumed by you and your Presence, that out of us flows naturally your love and your character. What are small, minute things and concerns, when you have called us to reign and rule...to occupy and take back territories? Father, we are not a Kingdom of punching bags. We will continue to fight back in prayer. We will continue to go forth in the Great Commission. We will continue to speak the name of Jesus. Let our actions, our mouths, our hearts, and our minds be consumed with your love. Father, bridle our tongues so all we speak is your agape. We repent for not walking truly in love as you have commanded. Forgive us Lord. In Jesus' Name---Amen.***
