Investments
John 10:17-18, NASB
" 'For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again. No one has taken it away from Me, but I lay it down on My own initiative. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. This commandment I received from My Father.' "
John 12:46-47, NASB
" 'I have come as Light into the world, so that everyone who believes in Me will not remain in darkness. If anyone hears My sayings and does not keep them, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world, but to save the world.' "
The biggest example that's glaringly obvious of an investment would be of our one and only Savior, Jesus Christ. He is the one who has made the biggest, truest investment for us to have access again to the Father, to the glory, to heaven, and so much more. The veil was torn and there's so much to dive into when it comes to the heart of God, his glory, the glory realm, the mind of God...a true relationship back to where it should have been.
I wanted to talk about investments from the perspective of accountability and responsibility on our part. Based off of the investment and time taken in us to have true access back to God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ, we play a role in completing the assignment. This brings up the questions: What have we been doing this whole time? Have we been listening? Have we been obedient in the directions of Holy Spirit? What have we wasted time on? Has there been true vulnerability and submission to the Lord's guidance concerning every area of our lives?
I think of our obedience to God, in regards to our assignment, as an investment back unto Jesus, his mission, and the end-time movement. We all play apart of how this turns out (1 Cor 12, NASB). We are one body with different functions, different anointings, at different levels, and at different capacities, but with all the same mission.
Our investment at times looks like sacrifice of time, wealth, material things, and most definitely our flesh and those fleshly desires. Our sacrifice is tearing down and destroying altars of idolization within ourselves, to only wanting the Presence of God and all that entails. However, as I have learned, how can we invest in God when we continue to feed those altars of the flesh? How can we invest in God when we invest in things outside of him?
This is a huge perspective shift but such a necessary one, and the shift needs to happen soon in seeking the face of God with prayer. When we invest in what God told us to do in the beginning (whatever that is for you) we are telling him that we trust him and are working with him. What this looks like is applying for school, taking someone out to eat, working on that book or project that's been sitting collecting dust, healing the sick, raising the dead, casting out demons, prophesying to a stranger, and whatever else you can think of.
Invest in obedience. This is the least we can do for everything that's been invested in us already.
***Let's Pray!!! Father, we make the decision to invest in you. We make the decision to invest our time with you. Lord, let us pray and commune with you everyday. Father, however we have to, let us set aside the time to sit and talk with our friend. We want to hear what you are doing and how we can be apart of it. We know that we weren't created and placed on this earth for no reason, so Lord let us be vigilant and zealous to do your will concerning us. Father, we repent for procrastinating and potentially missing those opportunities out of disobedience. Convict our hearts and pierce us to the core when we are heading in the wrong direction. God, let us seek your face on a daily by studying your Word and praying without ceasing. We love you and honor you, and will show this by how much we've invested, how much we are investing, and how much we are going to invest. In Jesus' Name---Amen.***
Amen 💕
