Hard Truths
"What else is there?!" This is the question I would ask God in my head or in prayer times. This question derived from being in a place of transition when I didn't even know God was working me through this process. "Oh, you mean now?" I'd ask God when it's actually time to shift in life.
You know when you're like, "I'm ready to get out of here. They don't treat me right, etc etc," concerning your job. Just straight talking foolishness and careless words (Prov 18:21, NASB). *Now, this isn't for everybody, so please listen carefully when I say this. Please, don't up and quit without a clear "Go" from Holy Spirit. Just like God saw and heard the cry of the Israelites, he also hears your cries, complaints, and so on, so be careful of what comes out of your mouth and learn to bridle your tongue (James 3:1-12, NASB).
The issue is when the Lord tries to transition you, and your mind is still in Egypt not ready to let go of those idols you thought you didn't have. During this season of just raw, pure faith, God is revealing to me the idol I had made out of my career; showing me as on a movie screen how all along it was him who supplied all our needs (Phil 4:19, NASB). The Lord of course used the jobs to pay for livelihood, but he's the one who supplied the career.
I had more than enough time to sit back and listen to prophecies, think about past experiences in nursing school, and so on, and God was literally there the entire time. I promise you, the car was where the most prayer, worship, and tears were shed. Even after school, I struggled to even obtain my license. It has literally been an uphill battle, but of course, not all the time.
Anyway, now in this transition season, there is consecration, crushing, refining, and more. I keep hearing it around me "You have to die". Like, I literally wrote a poem on this! If I needed an answer, I honestly didn't have to look any further. The process of dying to yourself and killing off your flesh, those idols, and those secret altars in your spirit can be painful. You are left where God is literally making the moves. Of course, this doesn't mean you sit on your hands and do nothing; obedience really is key.
Have you ever been in areas in your life where it seems to be the same thing over and over? Eventually, you stop and pay attention to what the issue is and ask God for wisdom on how to rectify the situation. This is where I'm at in life, and feel like others are as well. The transition is hard, and standing on God's Word can be as well when things in the natural are telling you to go back to what you know ie Egypt. If it's that time and season for you, God will literally force you to sit down, brainstorm, and pray into that situation. You thought you were doing something? No. It's like God is saying, "Let me help you," but the help looks nothing like you expected.
Long-story-short, trust in the Lord and his timing, have crazy faith that sees into the supernatural (Heb 11:1, TPT), walk out your faith, kill those idols that are in the way, and be delivered from your previous mindset. If you want to go back to Egypt, you will stay in the wilderness. However, if you want to go to the promised land, you will fight your way to get there.
***Let's Pray!!! Lord, we thank you for the push. We thank you for the lessons you give to your children through fatherly discipline. We repent for not paying attention when it was time, and even ignoring you when we did notice you trying to get our attention. Lord, we are ready. We say it all the time in songs and prayer for you to burn us and make us new. Father, let us not repeat these things just as if they were meaningless sayings, but let this truly be our hearts' desire. This does not feel great at all, but we know who you are and we stand on these truths. You are Faithful and True and there's nobody like it in all the earth. Strengthen us and build in us the power and the might to endure the fire. Thank you Lord for standing with us in the fire! We will lean more and more into your bosom to hear your hearts desires, your plans, and move accordingly. We love you, we honor you, and appreciate your guidance. In Jesus' Name---Amen.***
