Empty

     Exodus 20:4-6 (NASB)

" 'You shall not make for yourself an idol, or any likeness of what is in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the water under the earth. You shall not worship them or serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me, but showing lovingkindness to thousands, to those who love Me and keep My commandments.' "

Have you ever been so empty of yourself but so full at the same time? Self being the main word that the world loves to harp and focus on. I know I talked about purification before, but what about after that? What about after all the junk has been removed.

My empty is not the empty Webster's Dictionary gives you. My emptiness is the flesh dead, the spirit filled with books and books of God's Word, and His revelation coming in like a continuous outpour. I believe you probably understood where I was going from the first sentence but let me continue.

There's an emptiness God is searching for where he looks around and says, "Yep, that's the one. They've done the job, passed the test (s)...I can work with this." There's no more of you! When will we remove ourselves?! Seriously, why have I gotten used to seeing foolishness on my timeline? This is the new church? This is acceptable before God? My goodness where is your fear?

I was listening to a teaching between loving God and fearing Him being two different things. I never saw it like this before or honestly thought of it, but the man was explaining that you can love God and not fear Him, and it's in what you do and/or what you allow. Are you a bystander of what God calls unholy, or are you speaking up for His law and precepts? Don't get me wrong, I believe we all are guilty of this, but deciding to change and do something about it is at least a start. I surprise myself when I just open up my mouth (Isaiah 30:21, NASB).

*Side-note: there's and time and place to open your mouth and sometimes there isn't; use Holy Spirit to determine which. I've had to learn the hard way and honestly still continue to learn.*

I decided a while back that, "Lord, however you want to use me I'm willing." Sadly, it took me getting run-down and tired to realize this, but thank God for it! I got tired of doing things in my own strength. It also helped me not really care what people had to say or think about me. I'm also learning the difference between discernment and assumption from personal experience and from what I have observed. It really comes down to, "Did the Lord say to do this?" or "What did God say?" Don't allow others to dictate and maneuver your life! If it doesn't align with God's Word then what are you doing?

Empty yourself of people and fill yourself with Jesus. If it looks unfamiliar to the world, but it has God's stamp of approval march ahead soldier! Be so empty and full at the same time, that the surety you have in Him and Him and you trumps any and everyone else. The further you are away from God, the more insecure you are about yourself. Know who are in Him and take your place (1 Peter 2:9, KJV).

Be so empty of self that you can pour into the lives of others. Self will always get in the way, but the library and storage house of heaven trumps it all.

***Let's Pray!!! 💛 Thank you Lord, that we can come before you with respect, with honor, and empty of ourselves...dead to our flesh. You are the Truth and there is none liken unto you, so allow us to look upon the only true One for guidance, for direction, for correction. God, help your church! Clean us anew! If you have to pluck up and destroy those who are not pure, please do it! You do not long to be made a mockery of so we will not do it. Any bickering, backbiting, gossiping, and/or assumptions going on in the body of Christ, remove it Father. How can we, as the church, be the example to the world if we still need cleaning and emptying? God let us hate what you hate and love what you love. We want to be on one-accord with you, and just for you. We take seriously the message of the cross and live in total respect and fear of you. Jesus, we do not take lightly that which you have done for us, and continue to do for us on our behalf. Let us acknowledge you in all we do. In Jesus' Name---Amen.***
