The Blank Slate
Psalm 19:7 (NASB)- "The law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple."
This past week, during my time with the Lord in studying, God really opened up my eyes and His heart in regards to why people turn out the way they are. Not everyone was raised with the Word of God, not everyone had nifty sayings that referred to scripture, and not everyone prays in the four walls of their households. We, referring to me, can get so caught up in our own realities that we lose focus on the realities of others. We don't consider the blank slate (soul ie mind, will, emotions, heart) that others had for people to have the privilege, audacity, and responsibility to write and inscribe their own beliefs on.
This all stems from me reading about King Solomon in 1Kings 3:7 (NASB), which says "Now, O Lord my God, You have made Your servant king in place of my father David, yet I am but a little child; I do not know how to go out or come in." The last part of this verse really stuck out to me, and the Holy Spirit would not let me move on. He had me sit and ponder how child-like we really are, and the effects of how the world's activities can shape us if we're not living His Word. This really made me empathize with those who were raised without Christ; the parents who raised their children based off of what they were taught without the Lord's Word. These former children were blank slates that someone else had the responsibility to shape and nurture.
You see the results in their family-line. Things always seem to happen the same way as it did to uncle or auntie because of the same mindset; the same spirit that was passed down. From generation to generation, these seeds of diseases, gossips, liars, deceitfulness, and the same have been passed down, and we wonder what makes a family a family? You are not like your mother and father for no reason; this was passed down to you in the womb. However, these spirits can be prayed against, and chains and generational curses and covenants can be broken in the mighty Name of Jesus.
Furthermore, have you ever sat and wondered how people came about i.e. their character, personality, charisma, or lack thereof? As we quote the Bible, meditate on His Word, and inscribe the Lord's Word on our hearts, there are others who are inscribing other things of this world on their hearts. What the world offers is nothing in comparison to what God offers, and that is eternal life and more. The question that comes about is, "What has been inscribed on the tablet/slate of your heart?" What is your spiritual make-up, if at all? How God gave the vision to me is a blank, white canvas, and inscribed upon it are the teachings and life experiences given to us. What we give ourselves and attention to, can make this painting a masterpiece of either bliss or destruction.
However, not everything is our fault. Again, things were taught incorrectly (or from the world's point of view), and now there are calls for repentance and deliverance of what the enemy tried to destroy from the womb and childhood. God wants to create His masterpiece upon our blank slates if we allow. He wants our all. I suddenly started to cry from My spirit, and from God's heart concerning the matter. He allowed me to see the blank slates of people, who's souls have been written upon with insults, depression, thoughts of suicide, ways to kill themselves, and more, and it broke my heart. Their blank slates looked like black, nonsensical, confusing scribbles on a piece of white paper; nothing constructive with no direction whatsoever, but Jesus and God's Word can fix that!
We have a responsibility to be that light of the world and salt of the earth spoken of in Matthew 5:13-20 (NASB). It is the duty of the saved to save others who are lost. We are not set on this earth for selfish reasons, but to help one another from eternal damnation and introduce them to Jesus. We are here to introduce the lost to our true Father in heaven. We are here to bring together the greatest, consistent, and perfect relationship one could ever have with Christ and our Father.
***Prayer Time! 💜- Thank you Lord for your Presence. Your Presence brings so much joy, love, peace, understanding, and a stillness that cannot be explained. When You walk into the room, everything changes. Your glory heals, casts out demons, destroys the old yokes, and sets the captives free! Thank you Lord! Thank you that you are making our slates (souls) clean to receive your Word, to enter into your Presence and not want to leave. No self-care or elements of this world can compare or overtake dwelling in your Presence and sitting at your feet. Father, we seek your face every day, knowing you'll answer, knowing we will find, and knowing the doors will be opened unto us. Let us get back to what's not popular, but what is in your Word i.e. fasting, praying, and studying your Word. This is my heart Lord, that people won't see all of this as being too religious or being too spiritual, but just wanting to get closer to you by rejecting our fleshly wants, and subjecting to You Father and your wants. You want to be wanted and we receive it, because we love you Lord and want you. No presence is like your Presence Father. No peace is like your peace. No joy is like your joy. We want you. In the mighty Name of Jesus, we do pray-Amen, Amen, and Amen.***
