Roots

It's very important not to forget Or be a bit inquisitive, When the world has a set Of traditionalistic "positives" Yes, it's time to see those long lost And catch up on the past year, But this time could be any time Why save it for just here? Business and life gets in the way But lets take this time to remember, That even though life may make us sway That being there for our loved ones is our endeavor Whether for holiday or not No matter how beautiful it may be, Let us strive to love everyone As expressed in 1 Corinthians 13  I heard it was once said To never forget your history, For where it was once bred This history can repeat itself and end in misery Not all history is bad Or deserves to be buried under the rug, But let us not follow blindly The infiltrating and antagonizing bug The pest who disguises himself as light Who comes in silently, The one we think is not so bright But we tend to follow him blindly We have a Savior whom we must follow, And not forget His...

The Faith Resumé

Hebrews 11:6 (NASB)- "And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him."       James 1:6-8 (NASB)- "But he must  ask in faith without doubting, for the one who doubts is like the surf of the sea, driven and tossed by the wind. For that man ought not to expect that he will receive anything from the Lord, being a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways."      The scriptures mentioned above are just a few of a plethora of scriptures in the Bible when it comes to our faith in the Lord i.e. how it should be treated, how it should be used, what to think about it, etc. Faith is defined in Hebrews 11:1 (KJV) as "the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen". The question then arises, "Then  why have faith at all if I'm not going to physically see the result of it?" However, this question wo...

Watch Your Mouth!

Proverbs 18:21 (NASB)- "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit."      Have you ever thought how words could effect your life or its' outcomes? The use of words have been a theme for me this past week; from Bible study, to a Holy-Spirit-lead conversation with my husband. Words, as the scripture mentions, has the power of life and death. Do we really think about how saying negative things on others could effect their lives, do we care, or do we even know how serious the Lord takes this subject?      The use of words, positive or negative, have been tested on things that are not humans and the effect is what you would guess it to be...positive or negative. Imagine how this looks on a human. Yes, I am talking about tearing someone down in their face, but also behind their backs. When you speak negatively on someone's life, they don't know it, but it can hi...

Hallelujah!

Image
Revelation 19:4 (NASB)- "And the twenty-four elders and the four living creatures fell down and worshipped God who sits on the throne saying, 'Amen. Hallelujah!' "      This past week, the word "Hallelujah" has been coming back to me and my mind; songs and scriptures that contain the word and such. When something becomes repetitive to me I don't like to take it by chance and ignore it, because it could be the Lord trying to say something, as with previous situations in my life.     I was praying and worshipping in the spirit in my private time, and something like a wave came over me from the back of my head several times. The more I prayed and worshipped in the spirit, the more the tears started to flow. This wasn't a natural, physical, emotional type of praise. I did not know what I was crying about but my spirit did. My spirit was rejoicing from inside of me ahead of...
